🌼 Our Story
Rooted in community. Grown with care.
Ottovis Garden began as a dream to transform a patch of underused land in Ottoville, OH, into a vibrant botanical space where nature could thrive and people could reconnect with the outdoors.
Founded in 2009 by local residents Claire and Thomas Vernell, the garden started with just a few flower beds and a small greenhouse. Inspired by Claire’s background in horticulture and Thomas’s deep love for Ohio’s native ecosystems, the couple envisioned a public garden that would educate, inspire, and preserve the natural heritage of the region.
Over the years, with help from volunteers, donations, and grants, Ottovis Garden has grown into a thriving 5-acre sanctuary featuring themed gardens, walking paths, community programs, and a robust calendar of educational events.
